First aid

I popped in a First aid training by British Red Cross.
When I walked on Oxford street in Manchester, a staff recommended me attending the training by chance.

I learned how to resuscitate unconscious people by road accident.
Especially, I studied about how I make sure he/she is unconsciousness, when I should start cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and how I do this more effectively.
This training was lasted for just only 5-10 minutes, but I think myself that I can help people in the case of road accidents.

12 packs of Maize Snacks

At last, I bought Maize Snacks from ASDA, added to crisps.
I always stared at them when I go shopping ASDA but I usualy purchase crisps insted.
Because so big bag of snacks are attracting to me, I could not stop having Maize Snacks last time.

There are three types of shape and flavours;
Puffs- Cheese, Rings-Onion flavour and Sticks-Salt and Vinegar.
Every shape is very cute, of course small tiny packs are lovely.
However, main topic is the taste, isn't it?
The vinegar flavoured snack is quite shock to me because the vinegar is too strong to eat, it might be much sourer than green lime, lemon or something like that.

I realize myself but I prefer it to the other flavoured which are normal or usual taste.

Ian Fleming & James Bond: The Cultural P..

I read 007 written by Ian Fleming.
I find special cocktail which James Bond prefers, that is Vodka Martini.
Perhaps, I have not taken the cocktail in my life.
I like others for example Grasshopper,Kahlua milk, Tiffin milk, Casis Orange and Salty Dog.
However I become to be interested in Vodka Martini because of James Bond.
It is very cool.
I will try to have it when I am back Japan.

Teachers' strike

Because of teachers' strike, my school has been partly closed.

I met my tutors at entrance of the school in this morning.
They held a plate written something which I do not remember, but it may be indicated that rising payment or something like that.

Today they gave me a pretty rounded sticker instead of teaching us.
The sticker says “I support my lecturers” and I put it on my cloth.

I know they work very hard.
Especially my tutor comes to the school in the early morning to check e-mail and prepare classes.

By the way, what UCU stand for?

St George's Day

According to calendars, today is St George's day that is England's national day however it seems nothing happen.
When I go out, I just see some flags, in another ward St.George's Cross, on some pubs or church.
Also I see red roses which put on people's chest.

I like a story of Saint George's life and legend.
He attacked Dragon and saved princess's life.

As well as this,
I like any story about hero.
I am currently reading "OO7" which is a modan hero story when compering to Saint George in long long times ago.

Kurdish flavour

In the midnight, my neighbour suddenly brought dinner. Rice with tomato souse and hot spicy chicken.
The cooking was used full of Arabic spicy and flavour.
She usually use "Dill" to make rice and always keeps Dried Dill in her kitchen.
This is excellent aroma.
It may call "Dill Rice".
Dill itself does not have any nutrition but it is effective to calm down nerve system because of herb.

Yabusame

Today, I would like to write about "Yabusame" which is Japanese archery with riding a horse.
According to Japanese news, "Yabusame" was taken place at a Shrine in Tokyo, Today!!!

In nowadays, this is one of performances which reminding us traditional arts.
However this was one of effective strategies to fight enemies in buttles in the late of 1000s.
Perhaps, you find 'Yabusame' difficult if you imagine doing archery with riding a fast running house, holding other arrows and bow, and you must hit three objects.

water revolution

It is true that we waste millions plastic bottles in each day (Crook & McCathie 2008), therefore I am strongly agree with "tap water revolution" and "tap water campaign" in Manchester.
We need reduce rubbish (Crook 2008) and drink tap water instead of bottled water.
Also some people often say that tap water in Manchester is better taste than it of South England.
So it is a good idea of drinking tap water if you live in Manchester.

Additionally, there are many advantages of agreement with the campaign.
Firstly, this is an action of ecology-life.
Secondly, this may seem one of sophisticated life which called Lifestyles Of Health And Sustainability(LOHAS).
Finally, this will reduce cost of Shopping in another ward saving money.

As well as that, drinking water is good for our health and beauty.
So I will drink tap water in Manchester.
It should be tasty.

According to mail news of Manchester Libraries,

I really want one because it is not only stylish but also an eco-friendly bag.

Anyway,
the item of ecology is a good idea in many ways.
Firstly, this is one of strategy to make people eco awareness.
Another idea is that it may be business opportunity to sell this sort of things.
"I'm not a plastic bag" by Anya Hindmarch is a good example, isn't it?
My friends in Japan wanted the bag but it was already sold out, so many people who were desperate did not get it at all.

"eco-friendly jute book bags" produced by Manchester Library is neither famous bag or bland one, however they are based on local Manchester and an idea of ecology of the world. I like them, of course.

Research Proposal

Surprisingly, I have write my research proposal since last year.
So I have done this work for nearly 5 month, it is too hard to work.
My idea has changed a little by little, but main idea is never changed because the main idea is my speciality.

I have to write this in academic style within 1000 words.
Format is you can see as follow
1. Introduction
2. Background to proposal
3. Methods
4. Conclusions
5. References

In the part of methods, I also must mention timetable of the study.
I am not sure but Gantt chart is generally used and I made it.
Although there are some free soft ware of making Gantt chart, I made it by using Excell because I am prefer free soft to Excell.

In this season, there should be many beautiful Cherry Blossoms in Japan.
Unfortunately, I am not in Japan so I really miss cherry blossom (sakura).
I used to go to cherry blossom viewing (hanami) and sit down under the blooming trees to spend excellent time for example, talking friends with snaks, sleeping and just viewing them.

Cherry blossom viewing make Japanese people happy anytime not only daytime but also night.
Cherry blossoms (sakura) Under the moon light is also beautiful, some people take many picture of them during night.

What a pretty Polar Bear is !
As you already know, this Polar Bear is called Flocke.
I like this name because the mean is "snowflake", again how suitable name it is for Flocke.

Sōmen

When I am hungry during night, I often eat Sōmen.
Sōmen is quite simple nodles.
It is well known very thin nodle which served cold in summar.
However, it is also very nice to be served hot in winter or cold day.
In the UK, it is spring but wether is terrible as you know.
Even if Spring here, I cook Sōmen with hot.
I like Sōmen and seaweeds because tasty liquid come from dried seaweeds to soup.

Libraries in Manchester

There are many Libraries in Manchester.
Some of them are listed in the most beautiful library in the world.

(1) the John Rylands Library, Deansgate
(2) the John Rylands University Library
(3) Manchester City Library

Recently, I went to the John Rylands University Library to read books and check some litterateurs.
The place there is very nice because Librarians are kind and quaiet place to read books.

Also I am interested in the John Rylands Library, Deansgate.
The Library is under the contraction and has been invested 17 million pounds to be renewed.

yellow split peas

I am so interested in many kinds of beans and peas because my neighbours often cook them.
Then I surprisingly myself, brought yellow split peas at Tesco in spite of nothing know how to cook it, to be honest.
For this reason, I just kept them for a couple of day.
However, I tried to cook them to make soup today!!!
It was quite simple, I just boiled them and mixed with onion, garlic and green beans.
the taste was not bad.
the nutrition was, I think, highly excellent because of high good protein.

Someone said that yellow split peas are similar to Chana Dhal.
Next time, I would like to try them
Also, I prefer challenging others such as red (kidney) beans because my friend from Africa cooks it.
In addition, I am keen on Lens culinaris(Lentil).

Manchester Museum

I like Manchester Museum because there are many excitement things.
My favourite place to visit is "Animal Life Gallery 1".
There are big Tigris there and one of them, as if, intends to attack visitors. This should be frightened most visitors, but I am sure that they are interested in the Tiger.

By the way,
The Manchester Museum has a long history, it was established 1890s. Even the first collections were collected from 1700s.

These are the reason why I like the Museum.
Another reason is the building.
It is also a good architecture.
I am not sure but it seems Victorian architecture.
Is it right?

Detective Stories

I like reading books especially Detective books.

Of course, I already read many stories which are written by Arthur Conan Doyle.
One of my favourite stories is [The Sign of the Four].
I like when Sherlock Holmes studies some evidence for example food prints by using his magnifying glass.
As long as I remember, Watson married a beautiful woman who was a client of the case.

After reading most of his detective stories, I am desperate of another detective books.
Then I find another private detective at last.
This is L.A detective, Lenny Samuel.
The man in the story is not similar to Sherlock Holmes.
Firstly, he does not have a company like Watoson because he has no money.
Secondly, he often failed to do something, sometimes he is unconsciousness after being attacked,
Finally, he works in Los Angeles not London.

The author is Philip Prowse whom I am not familiar yet when it compares to Arthur Conan Doyle.
However I begin to be keen on him recently because his stories is exciting and interesting.

Crisps

I am currently keen on Crisps by ASDA.
Do you like it, too?
I like it because the package of crisps is charming.
firstly,
there are many small packs in the extremely big bag.
I remember that I was surprised the big big bag when I saw it for the first time.

I found a really nice fragrance in Boots,
The name of fragrance is Flight of Fancy which produced by ANNASUI.
I think that the Perfume is suitable for women who like keep herself pretty or smart.
Also if you would like to be fancy, the fragrance is the best for you because the mane of it.

In addition, do you see the bottle of it?
It is absolutely fantastic because gradation of colour and shape of bottle.
I love it so I should be buy it as soon as possible.
