Murray Mints

MINT.jpgI come to know that "Murray Mints" is fantastic!!
My friend gave me some candy but I usually do not take candy.
Because I am not keen on something sweets.

However, the candy is special to me.
I want to take this almost every day.
Perhaps, there is not the "Murray Mints" in Japan.
So I will take it to Japan as a grate souvenir.

Ramsons

What I am surprised is that there are many edible plants in my garden.
The first is Stinging nettle which I found several days ago.
Another plant is Ramsons which I am most interested now.
I did not know the plant at all because there are no ramsons in Japan. And it is the first time for me to see it.
Ramsons is sometimes called as wild garlic or broad-leaved garlic. As they called, it tastes like a garlic.
Ramsons.jpg
I am very happy because there are many ramsons as can be seen in my photo.
Its flowers are beautiful and charming.
Do you think so?
They are growing naturally without care by neither somebody or me.

When I checked the plant, it can be used in soup and salads.
I like both of them.

Aubergine

1.JPGOne of my favourite vegetables is Aubergine.
Aubergine sold by supermarket in England is much bigger than Japanese eggplant.
I think it is four or five times bigger.
So I guess it is too difficult for children to grab it by one hand. even me, sometime it is not easy to do it.

3.JPG
Today, my cooking was fried aubergine with Korean flavour.
This real means that I used sesame, red paper, garlic and soy souse as seasonings.
Added to the fantastic aubergine, I used Onions and Green beans.
The dinner was grate because I had it with rice.

According to some article, there is a lot of polyphenol in skin of aubergine.
Eating it can lead healthy diet and anti ageing.
How much do you eat them in basically?
I strongly recommend every one taking the veg.

12 packs of Maize Snacks

ASDA snacks and crisps.JPGAt last, I bought Maize Snacks from ASDA, added to crisps.
I always stared at them when I go shopping ASDA but I usualy purchase crisps insted.
Because so big bag of snacks are attracting to me, I could not stop having Maize Snacks last time.

There are three types of shape and flavours;
Puffs- Cheese, Rings-Onion flavour and Sticks-Salt and Vinegar.
Every shape is very cute, of course small tiny packs are lovely.
However, main topic is the taste, isn't it?
The vinegar flavoured snack is quite shock to me because the vinegar is too strong to eat, it might be much sourer than green lime, lemon or something like that.

I realize myself but I prefer it to the other flavoured which are normal or usual taste.

However I become to be interested in Vodka Martini because of James Bond.

Kurdish flavour

Kurdish and Europian.jpgIn the midnight, my neighbour suddenly brought dinner. Rice with tomato souse and hot spicy chicken.
The cooking was used full of Arabic spicy and flavour.
She usually use "Dill" to make rice and always keeps Dried Dill in her kitchen.
This is excellent aroma.
It may call "Dill Rice".
Dill itself does not have any nutrition but it is effective to calm down nerve system because of herb.

yellow split peas

I am so interested in many kinds of beans and peas because my neighbours often cook them.
Then I surprisingly myself, brought yellow split peas at Tesco in spite of nothing know how to cook it, to be honest.
For this reason, I just kept them for a couple of day.
However, I tried to cook them to make soup today!!!
It was quite simple, I just boiled them and mixed with onion, garlic and green beans.
the taste was not bad.
the nutrition was, I think, highly excellent because of high good protein.

Someone said that yellow split peas are similar to Chana Dhal.
Next time, I would like to try them
Also, I prefer challenging others such as red (kidney) beans because my friend from Africa cooks it.
In addition, I am keen on Lens culinaris(Lentil).

Danish Rice Pudding

デンマークfood.JPG
My neighbour who come from Denmark brought rice pudding as a Denish food.
I am so keen on Denish food because it is first time to take it and I like milk products.
He added Cinnamon sugar and Butter to the pudding, this makes it more heavy protein and thick taste.
Indeed, the taste was too strong and too heavy for Japanese to eat.
I was afraid that my stomach would be upset due to the highest fat and protein in my life.
However I like it as long as I have it once a year.
Also I think this kind of food should be good for my health because I am skinny and perhaps lacking nutrition a little.

Seoul Kimchi

I sometimes go to [Seoul Kimchi] because I need Soy sauce.
they sell bottles of soy sauce but it is not same as Japanese.

Do you know the shop is written on M.E.N about 2 month ago.
If you missed, please check wed site here (←click).

Korea is the nearest country from Japan, therefore I relatively feel familiar to Korean people than other nations.

I like the shop because there are not only Korean foods but also Japanese foods albeit it is very small amount.
Mainly, I buy soy sauce, dried seaweeds and soba.

Easter Monday

Today is Easter Monday so I do not need go to school.
Then, what should I do today?

I have an idea.
I went to landlady's house with my friend who is a Kurdish girl.

We had a good time to talk each other about anything.
for example, many kinds of customs in Japanese, Kurdish, English and French.
It was very interesting.
However we did not talk about Easter although it is Easter holiday.

Mushroom

kinoko.jpgI found Mushrooms besaide a road when I walked in an evening.
It looks like a yellow-shimeji which I and my family used to take out to eat from forest.
However I am not sure it is edible mushrooms or not.
It is so difficult to distingish between edible and not edible.
Sometimes, people take a mistake and eat non-edible it and suffer from food poisning.
So this time, I just took a photo, that this time. That was all in order to keep away from a bad happning.
Any way, it is a good example, English weather is likely to be wet.
This is reason why there are mushrooms on the usual road.
I like it, of course.

EPSN0013.jpgIn this morning, my husband went to the Criss street chapel to attend christmas mass.
When he was on the way there, he wated Bus for long time.
After several minutue, he rearized there were no bus today.
We now understand everything, in the UK, almost all shops are close and there are no public transports on the Christmas.

According to him, there were five people in the to him, there were five people in the chapel. I think perhpus most people went to their home town and there are a went to their home town and there are a dew people in central manchester.

In the evening, we went to our landlord's house to enjoy having a good christmas day.
We ate vetnam food, Arabic food and British food.
Every thing was fantastic.
Especially, I like traditional British Christmas Pudding with Cream.
It was the first time for me to eat it.

What is the MInce Pie?
There is no meat, inspite of called mince pie.

I found that recipe in M.E.N of 14th, Dec, 2007.
According to the article(for 6lb mincemeat),

350g seedless raisins
225g sultanas
225g currants
110g cut mixed peel
350g chopped dried prunes
350g soft brown sugger
450g cooking apples peeled, cored and grated
225g shredded suet
Grated rind and juice of 2 orenges and 2 lemons
50g each chopped almonds and pecan nuts
15g mixed psice
5g freshly grated nutmeg
150ml brandy or rum

There are so many provisions.
I am completely astonishment.
However, I like a mince pie because there is something exotic and ancient taste.
Also, I like custom regerding to Christmas.
Useally, people eat a mince pie during Christmas Holliday.
This is the reason why Chapel gave me a good mince pie at cross street chapel.
I enjoed having it with milk tea.

In my case, I have them with butter and Cafe latte.
It was really good time, inspite of living in the UK but the Alpus.
It dose not matter, more important thing is that it was also first time for me to make a bread. So I did it.

Next time, I will make them a lot, and I will give my freiends.
I cannot wait.
