Canals

There are many Canals in Manchester.
I went for walks along one canal.
It's a good time to walk because I took fresh air and I made myself refresh completely.

I know that water itself have healing power so that people near river, canals and lakes could recover or regain.
There are also many similar wards for instance, The Water Cure, Water's healing power and the healing power of water.

What I was happy with is that I met a family of Spot-billed Duck. Children of the duck was very cute; they firmly followed their mother.
I guss that the mother was in the middle of lesson for her lovely pupiles.

The Tenant of Wildfell Hall

I watched 'The Tenant of Wildfell Hall' by DVD of BBC.
It is grate and I am pleased with talent of Anne Brontë.
But I afraid that I neglected her talent so far, because Jane Eyre by Charlotte and Wuthering Heights by Emily are so popular besides her.
However I no doubt that the novel written by Anne Brontë also wonderful.
I like her world which is mystery and a bitter tasted story.

Manchester United

To be honest, I am not so interested in foot ball but I am a little excited with the news of UEFA Champions League final on 21 May 2008 in Moscow.

News paper have told us that Manchester United has won.
I am happy with the news because I am liveing in Manchester where Manchester United Football Club is baced.

Now I am becoming to know about football more so that I am becoming to be Mancunian(?).

Chocolat

What I watched at was "Chocolat".
Again I watched this film twice, the first time is about 1 or 2 years ago and the second time is Today.
When I was a child, I did not like Chocolate bar but now I do not dislike and I enjoy it sometime.

Anyway, the film is charming story.
The small chocolaterie which Vianne open in a French village is utterly exotic, the wall are painted with Maya tast and the shop is filled with cocoa from Guatemala.
I am interested in Hot Chocolate with chilli powder which is baced on recipe of Maya civilization.

Crash in Piccadilly Gardens

Bloody hell.
There was terrible violence in Piccadilly Gardens.
As you know, battle was suddenly happened because of technical fault in a big screen which a lot of football fan looked at.

As well as this, huge trash were left everywhere, even in Oxford road which is located not near to Piccadilly Gardens.

I heard several siren of ambulance car in very early morning, because I live near to A&E department at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
I am afraid that someone should be injured there.

One of problems was a technical fault, but I am wonder why the fault was occurred in the most important day for both many rangers fans and Manchester city and why were not prepared spare screens in such case.

As long as I know, there is violence in every football match.
I prefer completely careful game and atmosphere.

Harry Potter

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban..

Harry Potter Series are the most popular movie among any generations and any kinds of people in the world.
I watched ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’ yesterday.
Actually I watched it more than three times so far.
According to a travel guide book of the UK, one of beautiful seen was taken in Scotland, such as Glenfinnan and Glencoe.
I would like to visit there if I have a chance.

In this film, I am interested in three characters beside Haryy.

One is Professor Severus Snake. His speaking is excellent English and very clear. He has something mysteries.

Another is Professor Sibyll Trelauney. Her appearance is very charming, wearing very thick glasses and keeping not tidy heir. She behaves with a little exaggerate and speaks directly without thinking what people feel.

LONDON

I am invited to visit London to do some work with a colleague in this summer.
I think the work I have to do will be finished within one day, so I am planning to visit somewhere in London in another day.

Firstly, I really want to pop in "221B Baker Street 1)" and "the Sherlock Holmes Pub 2)". I would like to order something to drink there.

Secondly, the place where I would like to go is "National Portrait Gallery 3)". I am delighted for looking at "The Brontë Sisters" and "Florence Nightingale".

Finally, some parks is good place to go. There are many parks, I will pop in one of them, for example Hyde Park.

Japan Day

In the coming July, my former boss is coming to the UK!
He expects me to arrange some good time in England.
So I have to think and make a plan for him.

I think the places where we should visit are London and Manchester.
In addition, I would like to visit Liverpool because of Japan Day on 19th July.
My former boss would be delighted for visiting the Event there however depending on his schedule actually.

I am interesting in Japanese culture although I used to neglect them when I lived in Japan for long years.
So I would like to see what is Japan day like in Liverpool.

What a pretty Polar Bear is !
As you already know, this Polar Bear is called Flocke.
I like this name because the mean is "snowflake", again how suitable name it is for Flocke.

I like most animals such as polar bear, Spotted Seal, dogs, squirrels and Rubin.
I do not know why, but I think the reason is because they are innocent and they give me power of live.

When I think animals in the world, I think that we must deal with Environmental issues at that same time.
Global warming is the worst problem we have.

we have to act anything to stop Global Warming in order to live every animals including us.

Manchester Museum

I like Manchester Museum because there are many excitement things.
My favourite place to visit is "Animal Life Gallery 1".
There are big Tigris there and one of them, as if, intends to attack visitors. This should be frightened most visitors, but I am sure that they are interested in the Tiger.

By the way,
The Manchester Museum has a long history, it was established 1890s. Even the first collections were collected from 1700s.

These are the reason why I like the Museum.
Another reason is the building.
It is also a good architecture.
I am not sure but it seems Victorian architecture.

Chinese New Year

Today is Chinese New Year.
But again I did not know that.
Because I have never have that king of tradition in my life.

Anyway,
Today I went to college as usual.
However there were few student because today was Chinese new year and most class mates stayed other friend's house to have a party.

Fortunately, my friends who come from china, gave me some sweets.
It was really delicious.
It was rice cake made by brown sugar.
Perhaps, it is called `ma ra cao`

Pancake Day 2008

Is Today the Pancake Day?
What is this?

Anyway, I cooked a pancake because many people bought pancake mix in a shop.
Also I noticed a poster which mentioned that '5th Feb is pancake day'.
To be honest, I do not know pancake day at all.

Of course, I checked this word in Wikipedia.
At last I became to know this.
I like this kind of traditions because I can eat pancakes a lot!

A great success in the Gaskell House

Lats event in the Gaskell house came out well!!
Because there was an exceptional attendance over 300 people and the sum raised was just over £1,000 which is very gratifying.

I am looking forward to seeing a beautiful Gaskell house in future.

I think that Mrs Gaskell linked some the person to the other person and she made a good network of people.
Surprisingly, her power was still remained there.
I have a good example, when I went there I met people and had a wonderful time, every time.
After that, I still keep in touch them and sometimes we meet either house.

Is it coincidence?

Event of Mrs Gaskell

Did you go to the Gaskell House?
Today's event was really grate because there are many sweets.
Especially I loved Duke of cambridge Tart and Mrs Gaskell's Cherry Cake.

Anyway,
we are used to have 20 or 30 visiters.
HOwever, neary 300 people visited to the House in today's event.
So I can not believe this fact and I was really exaited when I did voranter work there.

Deborah Haile who is writer of M.E.N reported in the news paper that 'THE Manchester home of 19th Century novelist Elizabeth Gaskell is to be opened to the public following the success of TV drama Cranford. '

I expect that next Sunday(January 13) many people will come to the House to enjoy visiting the Cranford Day event as well as the house which is one of Manchester Historic Buildings.

I am working as a volunteer at that day.
So please come the Gaskell House to have a chat with me.
I would be very grateful if we have a victorian tea with a good conversation about Manchester and Mrs Gaskell.

Event in the Gaskell House

The Gaskell House is making an event next Sunday 13 January.
This is a follow-up from the excellent response resulting from many enquiries from people who have watched the BBC's recent production of 'Cranford'.

The House will be open from 12 noon until 3 pm.
there are some exhibition, slide presentation about Knutsford which Cranford origins by Joan Leach.

At 3 pm it will close to the public and a dramatised reading ('At Home with Elizabeth Gaskell') will be performed by Delia Corrie and fellow actor Charles Foster (this will be at 3.30 pm) followed by a mainly 'Victorian Tea'.

There is a charge for this part of the day as a fund-raising event.

fire works

Of course, I enjoyed the moment of new year in Manchester.
I waited for something happen which I expected, 10 minitus before new year.
It was happened just 2 or 3 minuts before new year!
There were many many fire works around my flat.
Someone perhapus did them in a park somewhere.
I went out from my flat and I watched and listened them.
It was wonderful!
I like to spend a good time on drinking some wine in Manchester!

Christmas markets

I went to Christmas market in Albert Square.
There are big sausages, lovely sweets and pepole.
I really enjoyed looking everywhere because those display were beautiful and exciting.
Many people had king-size glass of beer and sausages.
They looked like satisfied.
I felt Christmas there.
So Christmas is just around the corner

Cranford

My friend asked me that
"We very much enjoyed "Cranford" last night. Did you see it?"

Nowadays, Many people wach on TV Drama『Cranford』which was written by Mrs Gaslkell.
The TV Drama is often appeared in local newspaper and Radio because Manchester's people like it.
Perhaps, the story is located to Manchester or around them.

There are also posters about it in Gaskell House.
I really want to watch that TV programme, however I cannot do that because I do not have TV.
I will watch that of DVD in future.
